The University of Minnesota Medical Device 2011-2012 Fellows are proud to present the Fourth Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk, Monday, April 9, at the University of Minnesota Campus during the Design of Medical Devices Conference. The 5K is located a short two blocks away from the DMD Conference (located at the University Hotel Minneapolis). Join with us and have some fun as we stretch our legs, welcome spring and start off the work week!

When and Where to Meet
--Race check-in will begin at 6:00 p.m.
--Race will start promptly at 7:00 p.m., so arrival before 7:00 p.m. is recommended.
--Race check-in will be located along Church St. SE, directly in front of (west of) the Mechanical Engineering Building. For a

--Water stations will be located along the route.
--Times will be called out as runners and walkers cross the finish line.

The 5K course crosses over the Washington Avenue Bridge and offers breathtaking views of Minneapolis View of beautiful Minneapolis from Washington Ave Bridge

Prizes
--Prizes will be awarded to Fastest Male Runner and Fastest Female Runner.
--Additionally, a prize will be awarded to the company with the most checked-in runners and walkers!

Registration Details
--Cost is $20 and includes t-shirt and refreshments. Price increases to $25 on April 8.
--You are guaranteed a T-shirt if you register before Monday, March 19, after which supplies will be limited.

Note: The DMD 5K is open to all-level runners and walkers, and to those not attending the DMD conference.

About the Medical Devices Center Innovation Fellows Program
The Medical Devices Center's Innovation Fellows Program is a full immersion educational and product development program for medical device creation. Each fall, the MDC Innovation Fellows Program brings together a cross-disciplinary team comprised of postgraduate engineers, seasoned medical device professionals, and physicians to develop medical devices across a broad range of clinical areas. The team, led by Saurav Paul, Ph.D., JD will collaborate for one year to identify and solve unmet clinical needs through a disciplined decision-making technique which includes consideration of FDA regulatory pathway, insurance reimbursement, intellectual property, and business strategies. This one-year product development experience includes identification, development, prototyping and testing of medical devices.
